Tutus, Headband and Pampering, Oh My!

This year Sun Newspapers is challenging people to spend $100.00 at local shops. I think that is a fabulous idea. Buying local keeps money in our communities and helps local merchants. Plus you get some great one of a kind gifts that you cannot get anywhere else! Below is just a small sampling of what is out there:

Cove Consignment http://www.thecoveboutique.com  - Not only does Cove resale designer clothes but they sell handmade tutus and jewelry from local artist Brittany Crose.  Check out some of her things online @ http://www.facebook.com/doceremedspa#!/pages/Cleveland-OH/GlitzbyBritt/112898012082073

Planet Green – located in Rocky River this store is amazing. It has organic and sustainable gifts and local handmade items. I was able to get a cheese tray made from a vodka bottle that was unique and priced right. They are having a 50% off sale on all baby products from Dec 2-4 http://www.facebook.com/PlanetGreenGoods?v=info#!/PlanetGreenGoods?v=wall

Docere Medical Spa – If you want to buy a gift card or great organic skin products for some serious pampering as a gift this is the place to go. The facials are amazing and they are having their holiday open house Dec 4th from 11-4 for treatment discounts, product specials, demonstrations, guest speakers, food and refreshments, music, giveaways & fun

Dolce Organic Salon – Located right next door to Docere Medical Spa they are holding their open house on Dec 4th also. They do organic hair color, manicures that last 14 days and pedicures and waxing along with many other relaxing services. www.dolceorganicsalon.com

Ohio gifts - This website has some wonderful products that are made in Ohio along with some great food. http://www.ahoyohio.com

Want to buy toys made in the USA? This is not local but it does feature toys made in the USA. They are worth checking out: http://www.stillmadeinusa.com/toysngames

Esperanza Threads is a Cleveland company that sells organic cotton apparel for the whole family as well as sheets, towels, bathrobes and socks.

Lake Erie Artists – some unique local art, photographs and memorabilia http://lakeerieartists.com

Local Gift Cards – Try gift cards for local restaurants, garden centers, or museum memberships
